Morbius : Worst Sony Spider-Man Universe Movie Yet

G GOWTHAM
Morbius has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any Sony's Spider-Man Universe film, with critics praising the drab and outmoded attempt. For over a decade, sony has been attempting to create a shared comic book universe with characters tied to the Marvel webslinger, finally launching it in 2018 with tom Hardy's Venom. With the film's unexpected box office success, sony has begun work on a number of sequels, including tom Hardy's Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Aaron Taylor-Kraven Johnson's the Hunter, and Jared Leto's Morbius.

Leto plays the titular scientist in Morbius, who is suffering from a rare blood disorder and decides to cure himself by afflicting himself with a sort of transgenic vampirism. Despite being cured and given superhuman abilities, Morbius discovers that he now has a great appetite for blood, making him a wanted man as he tries to come to terms with his hideous new nature. Morbius is finally in theatres this week, following repeated COVID-related delays, however viewers may not flock to the theatres in the same en masse as they did for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Morbius' Rotten Tomatoes score has been released, following the removal of the review embargo on the film. With 74 reviews as of this writing, critics have given the Jared Leto vehicle a 20 percent approval rating on the review aggregator site. Morbius' Rotten Tomatoes score makes it the lowest Sony's Spider-Man Universe film yet, when contrasted to both of tom Hardy's Venom films, which had 30 percent and 58 percent acceptance ratings, respectively.
