Vijay fans, who have been doing various social work for the people, have also embarked on the task of popularizing cloth yellow bags. Environmentalists have been urging for years that people use alternative materials because the use of plastic products is harmful to the environment. The government accepted their request and banned 14 plastic products. In this context, chief minister MK stalin issued an order to encourage the use of cloth bags instead of plastic bags to further reduce the use of plastic and to create awareness in this regard. To this end, the chief minister launched an awareness campaign in december last year under the name "Yellow again".
Meanwhile, Vijay fans, who have been doing various social work for the people, have also embarked on the task of popularizing yellow bags. In states including tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra, the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam Movement observes weekly Sundays as Social Welfare Day. Accordingly, every project is being implemented every week.
Last Sunday, Vijay's Makkal Iyakka Movement launched a campaign to promote the elimination of plastic in all districts. Yellow bags were provided free of charge to the public. It is said that the distribution of the yellow bags was done on the orders of actor Vijay. This has raised the question in political circles as to whether Vijay is going on the Chief Minister's route.
