In honour of President's Day weekend, james Gunn has released the official blooper reel for Peacemaker season 1. Peacemaker is the first DC television series officially tied to the DC Extended Universe, starring john Cena as the titular anti-hero (DCEU). The funny eight-episode season, which picks up after the events of The Suicide Squad, just published its final episode this week, smashing audience records on HBO Max in the process.

Jennifer Holland and Steve Agee, as well as newcomers Danielle Brooks as Amanda Waller's daughter Leota Adebayo, Freddy Stroma as Adrian Chase (a.k.a. Vigilante), Chukwudi Iwujee as Clemson Murn, and Robert Patrick as Peacemaker's father Auggie Smith, will join Cena in his return as the brutal vigilante christopher Smith. The series has been a big hit in what is set to be a massive year for the DC property, filled to bursting with Gunn's characteristic sense of comedy and thrown into high gear by a gorgeous hair metal soundtrack. Gunn also managed to surprise viewers by including an unexpected cameo by the Justice League in the season's concluding minutes.

Gunn has resorted to twitter to offer a surprise President's Day weekend gift to eager fans, with planning for a second season already beginning. The footage, which includes a hilarious blooper reel of Cena polishing his character's helmet in a suggestive manner, indicates that the Peacemaker cast definitely struggled to keep a straight data-face throughout production.
