Breaking Mahaan - Director Spill the Beans
When it comes to Mahaan, it's a fairly straightforward plot in which the protagonist tries to strike a balance between his friendship and his relationship with his son. In the film, Bobby's character goes through a number of transformations. His character takes a profound turn and eventually achieves self-awareness, while Mahaan is actually travelling in the opposite direction. The contrast between the two characters is the star of the show. The plot revolves around the dispute between the father and his son.
For a long time, I had the concept of doing a father-son story, but I didn't pursue it because I was looking for the proper cast. When I got the chance to tell vikram sir about the script, I realised that this idea would work brilliantly because dhruv had just finished his debut film. He's also a wonderful actor, and I thought the plot was excellent for them. vikram and dhruv were just added to the cast, but the casting of the other roles was vital. Every character has a good room to perform, and I wanted really good performers like Bobby.
I believe that before the Covid-19 pandemic, OTT provided us with stuff that we had not seen before, but after it, it established itself and is a big blessing for the cinema business as a whole, because the theatres were closed throughout the coronas, which was a critical period. Theatres and OTTs, in my opinion, should operate in tandem and coexist. Having both platforms is actually beneficial to filmmakers and actors.
