Telugu actor Gopichand is not acting in Rajinikanth Annaatthe

Last month there were reports that telugu actor Gopichand has been roped in to play the antagonist in Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Annaatthe. Now, in a recent interview, the actor has revealed that he is not a part of the project. Gopichand said that he had met the director of the film, Siruthai Siva, a couple of times in hyderabad and that would have sparked off speculations. "Don't know how the rumours about me acting in Rajini sir's film began. Perhaps my friendship with Annaatthe director Siva led to these rumors. Siva and I meet quite often and he always tells me that he is ready to do a film me." he said.

 

The oxygen star also added that he might collaborate with the director for a new film if things fall into place.Gopichand made his debut in tamil with jayam Ravi's jayam, which released in 2002. He is now awaiting the release of telugu sports-drama, Seetimaarr, directed by sampath Nandi. The film was supposed to hit the screens in April. However, it got postponed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. The makers will announce the new release date post lockdown.

 

Rajinikanth's Annaatthe features stars like Nayanthara, Keerthy suresh, meena and Khushbhu in important roles. There are also reports that Keerthy suresh will play Rajinikanth's sister in the film while meena will be playing his romantic interest. D Imman, who had previously worked with Siruthai Siva in Ajith's Viswasam has been roped in to compose music for the project. His retro style background score in the recently released motion poster become a huge hit among Rajini fans. The film is touted to be a commercial family entertainer and major portions of it were shot in Hyderabad.
