Director Kalyan Krishna hit the right notes with his debut flick Soggade Chinni Nayana starring king Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishnan, Lavanya Tripathi, which had Nag playing dual roles as dad and son, with the dad role of a village Playboy being loved by the audience.
While it was announced that Kalyan Krishna will next make a spinoff with a script totally dedicated to Bangarraju, the maker, however, kept the project on hold and went on to direct Rarandoi Veduka Chudam starring Nag Chaitanya, Rakul Preet Singh, which received a moderately successful response at Box office.
As the film fraternity expected Kalyan to resume Bangarraju flick, it was recently reported that the director will be making a movie with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, who's fresh from the success of Raja the Great. When people had begun speculating that Ravi Teja might play Bangarraju, Kalyan himself has revealed that Ravi Teja movie will have a different script, and only King Nagarjuna will play Bangarraju and that this project will be made in mid-2018.
