Udit Narayan's full name is udit narayan Jha. The singer started his career with bollywood Nahi Nepali film. He sang his first song for the Nepali film 'Sindoor'. Udit Narayan married a woman named Ranjana in 1984 in Bihar. At that time he was not a well-known name in bollywood and he had to make his career. In such a situation, he left his wife and came to Mumbai. In Mumbai, Udit met deepa Gahatraj and both fell in love. The two tied the knot in 1985 and have a son, Aditya Narayan, who is also a playback singer.

When the first wife Ranjana Narayan came to know about Udit Narayan's second marriage, she claimed that he was her husband. But Udit kept denying this. After this, Ranjana approached the court and showed the photographs and documents, then Udit agreed to the marriage. The court had ordered singer that he would have to keep with both his wives.
