PM Modi Meditation: After reaching Kanyakumari last Thursday, PM Modi started a 45-hour spiritual meditation journey at Vivekananda Rock Memorial.PM Modi Meditation: Before the results of the Lok Sabha election 2024, prime minister Narendra Modi has reached Kanyakumari. He has started meditation at Vivekananda Rock Memorial built in the sea. Modi will remain meditative for the entire 45 hours.

What is Sadhana (Meaning of Meditation)

Sadhana means to stabilize the mind systematically and establish it in a special mode while continuously striving for proper progress. Meditation is also a sadhana in the spiritual field, for which the prime minister of the country NarendraModi is in the news these days. But what is the difference between sadhana and tapasya? Why did PM Modi take a pledge of 45 hours of meditation?

We all want to connect with God. For this, some people do meditation and some indulge in penance. But what is the difference between meditation and penance?

What is meditation and penance?

Chanting a determined mantra a certain number of times to attain your deity or to achieve some special result or chanting a mantra for a certain period as per the order of the Guru, performing Puja-Paath or Homa-Havan, etc. is called Sadhana. You can do it in any form, Sakaam or Nishkam. But Sadhana is done only for a certain period, then it has to be abandoned.

Practicing mantra or meditation for an infinite time without any desire for any result is called penance. A time is fixed for Sadhana. But in penance, on the contrary, there will be no time limit and neither is there any specific goal. In simple words, the person who does sadhana is called a sadhak and the person who does tapasya is called ascetic. The powers, siddhis, or experiences obtained from sadhana are limited.

On the other hand, the power, siddhi, and experience obtained from tapasya are infinite. While a sadhak does sadhana through rituals etc. to fulfill his goal, on the other hand, an ascetic achieves his goal by just wishing. That is, he does not need to take a resolution and chant mantras.
