Big decision! Three-month power cut!!
Power minister Nitin Raut announced in the assembly today that the power supply to the farmers who have been cut off from the power supply will be restored. He said that the situation of MSEDCL is critical due to the bank loan. He also said that the power cut was temporarily suspended for three months till the harvest was in the hands of the farmers. Raut said the power supply would not be cut off for the next three months till the farmers get the harvest, Energy minister Nitin Raut told the assembly. Apart from that, the power supply to the farmers will also be restored, he said. The power cut was a major topic of discussion in the House.
Raut said that the decision was taken to restore the supply to the affected farmers with the objective of giving priority to the farmers and also discussing the issue with the chief minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Raut also said that a decision has been taken to temporarily suspend the power supply to agricultural consumers for the next three months till the harvest is in the hands of the farmers.
Meanwhile, the Opposition in the house has attacked the government over the power cuts and demanded waiver of farmers' electricity bills.
