How to control Rising tomato prices immediately...!

Sindujaa D N

The idea of the people is that if the farmers' markets across tamil Nadu are increased, the price of everything including tomatoes can be controlled.

There is a growing demand from the people to immediately increase the farmers' markets to bring down the prices of vegetables, including tomatoes, which are rising sharply across tamil Nadu.

The price of vegetables is going up all over tamil Nadu. Especially shocking when you think of the price of tomatoes.

People are overwhelmed by the sight of tomatoes that have gone up in apple price.

A kilo of Tomato prices above Rs 100 today Gone up to 160. This has led to people moving away from asking for tomato prices.

The same is true for other vegetables. Yields have fallen and prices have risen as the northeast monsoon has intensified.

Prices have also risen due to lower imports from outside states.

At the same time, whoever benefits from this price hike will not benefit from it for the farmers.

Instead, farmers complain that traders and middlemen are looting profits. There was also a recent incident in Dharmapuri district where farmers dumped tomatoes in bags on the road.

The reason is that the traders did not come forward to buy at the external market price and the tomato was not bought and it became rotten.

In this situation, the people are demanding that the tamil Nadu government should immediately increase the farmers' markets throughout tamil Nadu.

The Farmers' Market was started in tamil Nadu by the late karunanidhi during the DMK rule. In the short time since its inception, the farmer's market has been in the minds of the people.

The purpose of these farmers' markets is to enable farmers to sell their produce directly to the people.

Vegetables are cheaper at farmers' markets than at other markets, and green mosaics can be purchased here. It also benefited the people as the sellers are farmers so there will be no unfair prices.

Especially today in Virudhunagar Farmers Market the price of tomatoes is 90 rupees per kg. In this situation, people feel that if these farmers' markets are increased across the state, prices are likely to fall.

People expect the government to take action to put up temporary shops even if permanent markets cannot be created immediately.

The government may introduce mobile farmers' markets in particular. For example, a bus can be converted into a mobile market.

If you put different vegetables for sale in it you can take them to different areas and sell them.

It is the opinion of the people that if lorries are used for this purpose, many farmers will be able to trade at the same time and people will be able to buy all the vegetables from where they are at a lower price.

The people think that opening up temporary markets, at least for tomatoes only, will benefit the people and the government will be blessed with lower prices.

There is a talk that the DMK government will execute any request immediately. So it remains to be seen whether the government will accept this farmer market demand as well.
