Director, Gautam Saraogi
“Our festive season story has been about setting new milestones. The 90% growth in our retail sales is a real barometer of customer response towards branded legwear, accepting it as a key component of their wardrobes! We have seen a heathy growth in the core items ‘Churidhar’ and ‘Leggings’ whereas new products like Knitted Pants and our range of Palazzo offerings have seen a very good response from the consumer. This has helped us achieve a healthy double-digit growth month-on-month. This sales momentum has been helped by the choice of over 120 colors that we offer and 18 different styles, also by the newproducts - the super stretch jeggings and slim-fit denim jeggings,” said the company’s Director, Gautam Saraogi."We had ramped up capacity to meet the added demand in this festive season. Thanks to an improved market sentiment and our new winter range lined-up for launch in the coming months, we are planning to bring more excitement to the marketplace. Our vast network of over 70 EBOs across the country, strong presencein LFS stores like Reliance, Central and Megamart, widespread online presence and above all, the trust of customers in us and our products have been the big differentiators for us,” Gautam Saraogi added.Earlier this year, Go Colors had raised $10 million in funding from Sequoia Capital to grow the brand and the current festive season success can be attributed to the tremendous expansion the brand has done in a short span of time. “We used the fund infusion to fuel our growth trajectory and catapult our Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) footprint across the country. We want to establish our EBOs across the length and breadth of India by this financial year end. This robust festive season growth is encouraging and has boosted our efforts to establish Go Colors as a legwear leader in India. Ultimately we want to be the one and only one stop destination for women’s legwear” said the company’s Director, Gautam Saraogi. The Go Colors Story:
Founded by professionals with several decades of experience in the apparel manufacturing industry, Go Colors is dedicated to legwear for women - offering the widest range of legwear spanning over 1000 items in more than 120 shades including churidars, leggings, harem pants, jeggings, patialas, palazzos and super stretch denims.
Go Colors saw the trend early where consumer preferences were shifting from traditional sarees and even the two piece sets to a more trendy and convenient mix and match concept. While there were innumerable number of brands for tops no one was focussing on the legwear aspect of dressing. The ability to move in first and get into malls as matching centres was a shift away from the given format that Go Colors took. It was the beginning of an exciting journey that the brand has embarked on, to grow the category and carve out a segment to own women’s legwear. While all brands restricted themselves to leggings and churidars, Go Colors took the bold move to roll out a complete line-up of women’s legwear.
Go Colors raised $10 million in funding from Sequoia Capital to grow the brand. With this fund infusion, the company has expanded its footprint across India and has gone global. They have achieved a 10X growth in the online space and have seen multi-fold growth from Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) and Large Format Stores (LFS).
In a matter of 10 months, Go Colors has grown to over 70 EBOs and aims to expand at a rate of 5 outlets per month, with a greater focus on North & East India. In the LFS segment they will be present in over 200 Reliance Trends, 23 Central and 42 Megamart outlets by the end of FY 2015-16 and is actively pursuing associates with other Large Format chains.
In the online space, its full product portfolio is live across all major market places – Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Amazon, Snapdeal and Paytm, Voonik and is soon go live on other market places.
Go Golors has also successfully entered the overseas market and opened 10 exclusive outlets in Abu-Dhabi and Dubai this year. They are geared up to expand their presence to more GCC markets and enter the SEA region by March 2016.
On the product front, Go Colors is the first brand to design products that suit the Indian weather conditions and body shapes. They constantly re-invent to bring out innovations like elasticized adjustable waist band that lets the consumer adjust the waist according to her data-size and innovative product attributes such as tall and short lengths to fit the leg length of ladies and many more such innovations.
