What is the INSACOG network?INSACOG was formed in december 2020 with the joint efforts of the Union Ministry of health and the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology. At present, 28 labs in the country are connected in this, which do genome sequencing of different variants of Corona. Under this, the Regional Genome Sequencing Lab (RGSL) has been linked to the network. The main objective of this agency is that as soon as a new variant of Corona arrives, all the labs should test it together and find out how it spreads.
How does INCASOG work?The INCASOG network also decides what guidelines should be followed during which type of corona infection. First of all, samples are collected from the body of the patients and they are sent to the regional labs. Genome sequencing is done in these labs and an attempt is made to identify how dangerous these variants are. This information is given to the Central Surveillance Unit so that its clinical-epidemiological correlation can be seen.According to the preparations, it is expected that if the corona infection spreads, India's INCASOG will quickly find its solution and people can be warned about the danger. Along with this, it can also be decided how to data-face Corona. Due to the complete lockdown, the general public has data-faced many problems in the past as well, in this case, efforts will be made to fight Corona without imposing a lockdown.
