Vice President venkaiah naidu slammed the bjp government on monday over claims of saffronisation of education. He also inquired as to what was wrong with saffron. He also sought the abolition of the English-medium school system, which was instituted during the colonial period.

Venkaiah Naidu also advocated for the promotion of the mother tongue. He wants to see indians communicate with their locals in their mother tongue, rule in their mother tongue, and issue all government orders in their mother tongue. According to Suryakant Dhasmana, vice-president of the uttarakhand State Congress, the Vice President should not have made a comment like "what is wrong with saffron" as a person holding a constitutional office. He should not speak like a bjp politician as Vice President. Dhasmana went on to say that such sentiments were not expected in the address of the country's Vice President.
