Covid cases shoot up-states issued regulations...

Due to an increase in Covid cases in india, various states have established regulations and made masks necessary. According to data from the Union health Ministry, there were 5,357 new coronavirus cases reported in india on Sunday, bringing the total number of active cases to 32,814. The announcement states that 11 deaths were reported in the previous day, bringing the total number of fatalities in the nation to 5,30,965.

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union health minister, who presided over a review meeting with the health ministers of all the states and Union Territories, urged them to remain vigilant and ready for the treatment of the disease. He had also encouraged the State health Ministers to assess the health preparedness with district administrations and health authorities on april 8 and 9 and to perform mock drills of all hospital infrastructure on april 10 and 11. The minister also urged states to monitor trends in influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) cases, send enough samples for COVID-19 and influenza testing and speed up whole genome sequencing of positive samples in order to identify emerging hotspots.

A rise in the trend of Covid cases led researchers to conclude that the Covid-19 variation causing the current uptick is XBB.1.16. However, according to scientists, indians have developed a unique type of immunity. As a result, the current Covid-19 variants won't cause a lot of hospitalisations.

The most current INSACOG advice states that cases of the recently identified recombinant coronavirus variety XBB.1.16 have been reported across the country. Additionally, the unique variation XBB.1.16 is "one to watch," according to the World health Organization (WHO). According to Van Kerkhoven, XBB.1.16 has superseded the earlier variants that were in use in India. Keep an eye on this, then. The variant has thus far been reported by 22 countries.
