We are talking about sulfur mining here. For this work, the workers work in the area of active volcanoes. Experts say that people engaged in this work do not work after the age of 50. Sulfur mining is mostly done in Indonesia. Generally, people think that the more risky work is, the more money they get, but it is not so. A labourer working in sulfur mining narrated his own past.

He told that while lifting sulfur on the shoulder every day, our shoulders get swollen and this is very common. We have the courage to data-face death because we are afraid of hunger. We have to save our own life. As soon as the smoke rises from somewhere, we try to get away from there. If this smoke enters the body then stiffness is felt and there is a pain in the stomach. We get only one wet cloth as protection. We tie it to our mouth so that the sulfur does not stick to us.
