History of National Vaccination Day

In india, every year 16 march is celebrated as National Vaccination Day. It was first observed on march 16, 1995, the first dosage of oral polio vaccine was given in india in the year 1995 to eradicate polio from india was started by the government through the Pulse polio Campaign.


Under this comprehensive program, 2 drops of the polio vaccine, were given to all children below the age of 5. Since then the program, polio cases gradually decreased and eventually stopped. 

Over the past two decades, vaccines have become an integral tool in fighting dangerous diseases. Because of this, millions of lives have been saved from highly fatal diseases like tetanus, polio, and tuberculosis.

Everyone knows the importance of vaccination for all the people of the world. Especially during the Covid-19 epidemic, everyone has come to know the importance of the vaccine. Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent deadly and dangerous diseases.
