'Golden' Boy showered with rewards!

In the tokyo Olympic Stadium, Neeraj Chopra won gold in the men's javelin throw with the best performance of 87.58m. The 23-year-old is the first indian to win gold at the tournament, which takes place every four years. He was also the first indian to set a world record for the farthest distance hurled in the sport's history.
He is the first indian to win an Olympic medal in a track-and-field event in almost 120 years, and the first indian athlete to do so.
Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra became the first from india to win gold in track and field in the Olympics. The javelin thrower threw his best with only his second attempt and it proved a road too far for the other competitors on the day. 1. The haryana government has declared a monetary prize of Rs. 6 crores and a state government post in the class I category for Neeraj Chopra.
2. The punjab government declared a 2 crore cash prize for Chopra.
3. The Manipur government has agreed to award the Olympic gold medalist a prize of one crore rupees.
4. The Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) has also declared that Chopra would get a financial prize of one crore rupees.
5. The chennai Super Kings of the indian Premier League (IPL) has also announced a reward of one crore for the javelin thrower.
6. IndiGo, an indian airline, has stated that it will provide Neeraj Chopra with a year of unrestricted free travel.
7. anand Mahindra, a businessman, has offered to give the gold medalist the forthcoming SUV XUV700.
With an 86.48 metre throw, Neeraj Chopra won gold at the junior World Championships and set a new U 20 World Record. He is also a recipient of the 2018 arjuna Award and has competed in the Commonwealth youth Games for India. He was born in chandigarh and attended DAV College, where he joined the army cadet programme.
