A person committed suicide after taking a loan?
A sensational case of abetment to suicide has come to light in Kailash nagar police station area of Delhi. On 24 march 2025, the police received information from LNJP Hospital that 42-year-old Lalit Mohan Varshney, a resident of Kailash nagar, committed suicide by hanging himself. His wife Poonam Gupta had admitted him to the hospital. Lalit Mohan used to run a mobile repair shop in Kailash Nagar. The police has conducted the post-mortem of the body and handed it over to the family and started further investigation.
Giving information about the case, DCP prashant priya gautam said that in the complaint given by the deceased's wife Poonam Gupta, it has been told that her husband was being constantly pressurized by the local property dealer for money, due to which he thought it appropriate to hang himself. On the basis of the complaint received by the wife, a case was registered under section 108 of BNS in gandhi nagar police station and the police has arrested 60-year-old accused sanjeev Jain who has been arrested from Kailash Nagar.
Lalit made serious allegations against property dealer sanjeev Jain
During the initial investigation by the police, a recording was found in the mobile of the deceased in which Lalit, while apologizing to his wife, made serious allegations against property dealer sanjeev Jain. He said that in 2014 he had borrowed an amount of Rs 50,000 from the accused financier and even after paying the amount, the dealer has made the amount of Rs 10 lakh by adding interest which is impossible to pay and hence I am ending my life.
Investigation is being taken forward on the basis of interrogation
According to DCP Shahdara, the case is being investigated. Initial investigation revealed that the deceased had blamed sanjeev Jain for his suicide in his video. The police is now trying to find out what was the dispute between the two and what circumstances forced Lalit to take this step.
