Four murders on suspicion of witchcraft! 


Four members of a family, including an 11-month-old innocent, were killed on suspicion of witchcraft in Chhattisgarh's Balodabazar-Bhatapara district last thursday (September 12). police officials informed that three suspects from the village have been detained in connection with the murder. The accused include a man and his two sons. At present, the police is interrogating them.
The police officer said that the incident took place at around 6.30 pm in Chharchhed village of Kasdol police station area. The deceased include Chaitram Kaivartya (47), his sisters - Jamuna (28) and Yashoda (30) and Jamuna's 11-month-old son Yash. police have detained Ramnath Patle and his two sons in this case.
Suspicion of black magic for daughter's illness
The villagers told the police that Ramnath Patle's daughter was ill for some time and her family members suspected that her illness was the result of black magic done by Chaitram's mother. Officials said that the three accused entered Chaitram's house and attacked him with sharp weapons and hammer. All four members of the family, including the child, died a painful death due to continuous attacks. They said that Chaitram's mother was not at home during the attack, she had gone somewhere with her other son.
Assurance of strict action
Now the chhattisgarh police has registered a case in this matter and is interrogating the accused after taking them into custody. Soon all the evidence and witnesses will be collected and the investigation will be completed. If the allegations are found to be true, strict action has been assured.
