The story kicks off with Vaibhav's father scolding and slapping a young man caught watching women bathe, advising him to be disciplined. Ironically, the father dies at home while watching tv — but the real twist lies not in his death, but in the unspeakable problem that arises afterward. Vaibhav finds himself in a peculiar situation where he cannot inform his brother and family about their father's passing until this awkward issue is resolved. The rest of the film revolves around whether they manage to tackle this problem and give their father a proper farewell.
What sets "Perusu" apart is its clever plot, which revolves around a family grappling with an unusual predicament without crossing the line into distastefulness. director Ilango ram skillfully weaves comedy into the family's struggle to maintain their dignity while arranging the funeral, presenting the complications in an engaging and humorous manner.
Vaibhav shines as the perpetually intoxicated son, delivering a performance that adds to the film's charm. His brother, played by Sunil, captures the bewilderment of someone caught in a bizarre situation with reactions that are both realistic and hilarious. The first half, in particular, is a riot, with a doctor, a veterinarian, and even a priest all getting roped into solving the family's peculiar problem.
The supporting cast does not disappoint either — Chandini as Vaibhav's sister-in-law, Nikarika as his girlfriend, and Balasaravanan as his friend all play their roles with flair. Vaibhav's mother adds depth to the family dynamic, while Deepa, Munishkanth, and Kamalaka (the ever-curious neighbor who eavesdrops on everything) bring additional layers of humor and realism.
Director Ilango ram deserves praise for handling an offbeat plot with sensitivity and humor, making it a film that entertains without offending. It’s a refreshing addition to tamil cinema’s comedy lineup — a film that dares to be different and delivers plenty of laughs along the way.

Overall, "Perusu" succeeds because of its unique blend of family drama and situational comedy
