Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be used to improve the traffic system in Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun and deal with the serious problem of jam. The traffic police has planned to prepare a sounder network and AI based system for this, which will not only make traffic management easier, but will also provide relief to the public.

Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said, "AI technology will prove to be very important for improving the traffic system. We are planning to implement it as soon as possible. This will bring transparency in traffic management and provide relief to the people. He also said that the situation is worsening due to lack of expansion of roads in the city and increase in the number of vehicles. Strict action will be taken on issues like haste, illegal parking and violation of traffic rules through AI.

Tracking of vehicles, analysis of traffic flow and better planning will be possible through AI based system. This will lead to smart management of traffic signals, which will smoothen the movement of vehicles. people will have less problem of losing time by getting stuck in jams. AI technology will identify traffic rule breakers and strict action will be taken against them. Problems like illegal parking, wrong side driving and overspeeding will be overcome.
