Can Bollywood Recreate The Magic of Amaran?

Next year, 120 Bahadur, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is expected to hit theaters. Recently, the actor posted two posters to instagram that have received a lot of attention across various channels. On the 62nd anniversary of the battle of Rezang La, the posters were distributed. The posters honored everyone who fought valiantly at the period, and the movie would notably center on the life of Maj Shaitan Singh, who participated in the war.

Another statement on Farhan's social media page is, "Their story echoes through time, reminding us of the price of freedom and the strength of unity, with a special salute to the Ahir community, whose sons displayed unmatched bravery in defending our nation." The forthcoming movie will likewise pay homage to the warriors, with the plot centered on the activities of charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment. The film is being directed by Razneesh Ghai, but other information are yet unclear.

It's unclear if viewers will be interested in seeing it even with such a compelling notion. Farhan is a gifted filmmaker, but aside from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, his acting rarely made an impact. The popularity of Amaran in tamil Nadu may have inspired the creators. However, a significant disparity exists. Sivakarthikeyan, who has consistently experimented with original character development, is featured in Amaran. For Farhan Akhtar, the same cannot be said. Until the official trailer is out, no speculation is possible at this time. The rest will depend on the budget. It's unclear if Farhan can match Amaran's around Rs. 300 crores in revenue.
