Student Life Ruined by Sai Pallavi

After his personal mobile number appeared in a scene as actress Sai Pallavi's, Chennai-based engineering student V.V. Vaageesan filed a lawsuit against the tamil film Amaran's producers. His life was severely disrupted by the influx of calls from sai pallavi admirers as a result of the tragedy.
On october 31, 2024, when the movie came out, Vaageesan was enjoying Deepavali with his family when he began getting calls from random people. He didn't know why at first, but he subsequently found out that his phone number had shown in a scenario where sai pallavi threw a piece of paper with her number—which was actually Vaageesan's.

The calls persisted despite efforts to clarify the confusion, giving him great mental anguish and interfering with his everyday routine. Vaageesan said that ever since the movie came out, he has had trouble sleeping, studying, and doing simple things without being interrupted. Because of the deluge of calls, he even found it difficult to operate his phone for simple tasks like calling a cab.

Vaageesan filed a lawsuit after posting on social media and not receiving a response from the filmmakers. Through his attorney, he has requested the film's producers to take his number from the film and claimed 1.1 crore in compensation for the suffering. He said that because his phone number was connected to important services like his bank accounts, academic platforms, and Aadhaar, he did not want to alter it.
