Trump To Take Jobs Away From H-1B Spouses?

G GOWTHAM
Everyone expects donald trump to start up where he left off after returning to office for a second non-consecutive term. Ending work permits for H-4 visa holders was one such idea that nearly became a reality during his final administration. These licenses, which were first made available in 2015, have enabled H-1B spouses to work, establish bank accounts, obtain Social Security numbers, and lead respectable lives in the United States. However, Trump's reaffirmed "America First" policy may make these permits vulnerable.

Trump openly threatened H-4 work permits during his first term by promoting the "Buy American, Hire American" program. Trump's return portends a resurgence of anti-immigrant measures that unfairly target educated indian families, even if Biden retracted the policy before it was enacted. Although courts have previously supported the regulation, anti-immigration organizations contend that these licenses are depriving Americans of their employment. However, it seems probable that Trump's government would disregard these decisions and move forward with anti-immigrant measures without hesitation.

This might also have a negative impact on the nation because many competent spouses work in important industries like technology and healthcare. For indian families in the US, who risk losing one source of income, this is a difficult moment.
