Reportedly the shiv sena faction led by chief minister Eknath Shinde fielded rajya sabha mp Milind Deora from Worli for the upcoming maharashtra assembly elections. Deora will contest against shiv sena (UBT) candidate Aaditya Thackeray. Milind Deora is currently a rajya sabha member and is a three-time mp from South Mumbai. Deora was given the task of handling the Worli constituency during the lok sabha polls. Despite being Aaditya’s constituency, the Worli assembly saw a mere 6500 vote lead for UBT.

Perhaps Deora and Aaditya thackeray will also have to reckon with sandeep Deshpande of the MNS who has also been given a ticket from the constituency. The rajya sabha MP’s name was announced from the seat, a day after Aaditya thackeray filed his nominations for the upcoming assembly polls. Aaditya thackeray filed his nomination for Worli in Mumbai, his current constituency, on thursday and assured his confidence in victory, saying “people will bless him with their votes”.

Furthermore both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comprising the shiv sena (UBT), ncp (Sharad Pawar faction) and congress have intensified their preparations for the upcoming elections to 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. The bjp is part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance alongside the shiv sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and ajit pawar led NCP.
