In this case, chief minister Stalin inspected the precautionary measures taken following the heavy rain warning issued to chennai and the surrounding districts of Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and kanchipuram from 15th to 17th at the chennai Secretariat.

After hearing about the precautionary measures taken by the chennai Corporation and the district Magistrates, chief minister Stalin ordered a holiday for schools and colleges in chennai, Thiruvallur, kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts on the 15th to data-face the impact of heavy rains. chief minister Stalin has given some advice to the people as a precaution against heavy rains. Accordingly, farmers, fishermen, owners of 4-wheelers and two-wheelers, people staying in hotels, people planning trips, residents of flats, industrial estates, commercial establishments, private companies, peddlers, and construction workers should plan and make preparations for rain.
People living in low-lying areas should move to early relief camps as per the advice of the Corporation and district Administration. Important items and documents should be kept in a waterproof and safe place. In view of the heavy rain warning, the public should not even go to beaches, tourist spots, places of worship, and water bodies. He has advised to stay away from downed power lines.
