Kolkata Doctor's father Blames mamata for Inaction Against Sandip Ghosh

The father of a kolkata rape and murder victim has accused the West bengal government of failing to act against Sandip Ghosh, highlighting that his daughter might still be alive if action had been taken sooner. Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical college and Hospital, data-faced allegations of financial irregularities that came to light following the discovery of a woman's body at the hospital on august 9.

In a statement to reporters, the father expressed his grief: “In 2021, Sandip Ghosh was accused of financial misconduct at RG Kar Hospital. If chief minister mamata banerjee had intervened then, my daughter would be alive today.”

Regarding the ongoing investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), he noted, “The cbi is fulfilling its role, and we cannot comment on the investigation. Those connected to the murder and any evidence tampering are being questioned.”

He also addressed the protests by junior doctors, stating, “They are like my children, and it pains us to see them in this situation.”

Allegations Against Sandip Ghosh

Ghosh is currently under investigation for alleged financial mismanagement during his tenure as principal of RG Kar Medical College. He has been questioned by the cbi concerning the rape and murder case, which has led to his arrest.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a probe following complaints from college authorities accusing Ghosh of misappropriating funds designated for development and research projects.

Despite the removal of Kolkata's top police officer and two health officials, the protesting doctors have remained resolute. They have written to the chief minister, requesting a second meeting to discuss additional demands.
