At 11:30, a large number of protesters gathered in the fruit market near Dhali tunnel. Sloganeering continued there for a long time. After this, about 500 people marched from the fruit market towards Dhali tunnel. The police had put up a 15 feet long barricade in the Dhali tunnel.

After a 10 minute struggle, this barricade was removed and the crowd moved rapidly towards the mosque through the Dhali tunnel. Here, shimla police had put up another barricade before the mosque. The crowd wanted to reach close to the mosque.

Among them, Raju Thakur was the most seriously injured, who was taken to indira gandhi Medical college for treatment. Apart from this, stones were also thrown by the crowd during the lathicharge. police personnel were also injured due to stone pelting and jostling.
