The Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying, on 6 september 2024, the intermediate range ballistic missile Agni-4 was successfully launched from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. The launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters. It was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.

Range is more than 4,000 KM

The successful test of Agni-4 is considered very important for india, as it is part of India's Nuclear Deterrence Program. The special thing is that the range of Agni-4 missile is more than 4,000 km. That is, the enemy country can come under its range in a moment. Its successful test is being considered a milestone in strengthening India's defense capabilities. Earlier in april this year, india successfully tested the new generation nuclear capable Agni Prime ballistic missile with a range of 1,000 to 2,000 km from Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

Agni-4 can fly straight up to a maximum height of 900 kilometers. Its accuracy is 100 meters. That is, at the time of attack, it can destroy any target within a radius of 100 meters. The navigation of Agni-4 is digital. It is fired from an 8*8 transporter erector launcher.
