GOAT Flops Big Time at AP & TS
Vijay plays a son as well as a parent. In addition to projecting a convincing image of father Gandhi, he gives a superb performance. But he looks weird in a lot of situations as the son, whose young appearance is produced via de-aging technology. The movie has completely crashed in both telugu states and the occupancy is not even 40%. With mixed reviews, the break even is a hectic task.
Both Prashanth and Prabhudeva perform admirably in their corresponding parts. The role of Mohan, a well-known celebrity in the 1980s and 1990s, is badly written. Meenakshi Chaudhary and sneha feature in a handful of sequences and a song apiece, although their roles are minimal. In the movie, trisha and siva karthikeyan had cameo roles.
With the exception of Vijay's younger character, which required the usage of de-aging technology, the film's technical components aren't really noteworthy. The action scenes and pursuit scenes are standard parodies of hollywood productions. The tunes are unmemorable, but the photography is excellent. The background music is really mediocre and doesn't enhance the movie in any way. Normally, this concept would have captured the attention of everybody, but venkat Prabhu, the director, has presented it in a less engaging manner.
