Will Female Directors Jinx be Broken by Samantha's Favorite Neeraja?
Unquestionably, a small number of female filmmakers in tollywood are having difficulty obtaining offers, and as a result, they are unable to compete fiercely with their male colleagues. To change the course of women filmmakers in tollywood, debutante Neeraja Kona is demonstrating some optimism and confidence with her next film Telusu Kada, which stars siddhu Jonallagadda.
According to director Jeevitha Rajasekhar, "I think women directors are capable of handling all kinds of themes because gender has nothing to do with talent and things will turn in favor of women directors." Though she acknowledges that direction is a male realm, women are increasingly claiming their proper position in the entertainment industry. "It's only a matter of time until they truly shine," she continues.
In the meanwhile, the cinema industry is proud of its female filmmakers, like Sanjana reddy (Raju Gadu), Sowjanya (Varudu Kavalenu), Nandini reddy (Oh Baby), sujana Rao (Gamanam), and Seshu sindhu Rao (Choosi Choodanganey). They are unable to release new movies and climb the success ladder. Recently, other directors have entered the race, including Neeraja Kona (who will be directing a film alongside siddhu Jonallagada) and Deepthi Ghanta (Meet Cute).
Few female filmmakers, in my opinion, are hesitant to approach producers. producer Lagadapati sridhar adds, "They are unable to visit the producer's office repeatedly and seek offers." She argues that because of the increased prominence of the film business, female filmmakers are wary. "Until the film business abandons its sexist and patriarchal mindset, female filmmakers will struggle to establish a name for themselves.
He continues, "Being raised in conservative families, educated girls are unwilling to take chances. A few of them told me that industry is not conducive for women directors unlike other professions and their repeated visits to a production house aren't drawing good comments." After they discover the appropriate producer, they would start their next, and they would like to hang around the house and not take criticism," he continues.
