Telangana - Hyderabad Metro ridership drops in early 2024

Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) stated during their Q1FY25 earnings conference that the average daily ridership of the hyderabad Metro experienced a little decrease in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025. From april to june 2024, there were 4,32,000 passengers daily, compared to 4,42,000 passengers daily during the same time in the previous fiscal year (Q1FY24).
 

Comparing the quarter over quarter shows improvement despite the downturn. In Q1FY24 (April to june 2023) there were 4,22,000 passengers on average per day. L&T's Head of Investor Relations, P. Ramakrishnan, presented the data and discussed the financial ramifications. In comparison to the Rs 3.35 billion loss in Q1FY24, the hyderabad Metro reported a net loss of Rs 2.14 billion in Q1FY25.
 

L&T Metro rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL), which was recently accredited as an excellent place to work, has taken home yet another award for encouraging employee well-being. The company received the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Occupational health and Safety in the transportation (railways) category. KVB Reddy, the managing director and chief executive officer, was presented with the award during the 25th international Conference on Environment Management and Climate Change held in Bengaluru by the Institute of Directors.
