In Andhra Pradesh, a significant issue has emerged ahead of the elections regarding the descendants of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. His daughter, YS Sharmila, who is the president of the congress Party in Andhra Pradesh, has stepped into the spotlight, asserting her claim as his heir. She criticized the current state leadership for failing to bring prosperity, benefit farmers, or complete any of the prestigious irrigation projects initiated by her father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Sharmila went on to challenge the legitimacy of others claiming to be YS’s successors, citing the murder of YS vivekananda reddy as evidence of their brutality. She questioned whether those capable of such acts could truly be considered heirs of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Sharmila’s statements have sparked a widespread debate about YS's succession. Sharmila is intensifying her efforts to assert her claim as YS’s true successor. She is organizing a grand celebration for YS’s 75th birth anniversary in vijayawada on the 8th of next month. This event aims to highlight her claim to YS’s legacy and involves inviting national leaders and YS’s supporters from various social classes, including SC, ST, BC, and minorities. This move is seen as an attempt to garner their support and turn the vote bank in her favor.
The question now is whether the ycp will respond to this challenge. Observers suggest that if the ycp fails to address Sharmila’s claims, it could have significant repercussions.
