Radhika, who entered politics through Sarath Kumar, joined sarath kumar Karunanidhi's Anna DMK party and contested the elections in 1996. She was defeated by a small margin of votes. After that, sarath kumar also won once as rajya sabha MP. Later, during the 2006 assembly elections, sarath kumar also included radhika in the AIADMK party. But she was suspended from the party in october 2006 for doing anti-party activities. With this, sarath kumar and radhika left the party. In the 2024 elections, radhika joined the bjp and contested as an mp from Virudhu nagar Lok Sabha seat in tamil Nadu and lost. Radhika, who was successful in movies, could not succeed in politics.
