Delhi Airport Roof Collapse - PM inaugurated different building

The delhi airport's Terminal 1 roof fell on friday, killing one person and wounding four others, according to Civil Aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The roof was built between 2008 and 2009. Naidu made his statement in response to the Congress's accusation that the ceiling that fell was a component of indira gandhi International Airport's new Terminal 1, which prime minister narendra modi had opened in march of this year.
 
As Naidu assessed the situation at the delhi airport, he remarked, "I want to clarify that the building inaugurated by PM narendra modi is on the other side and the building that collapsed here is an old building and was opened in 2009."

According to government sources, GMR Airports Limited hired outside contractors to build the damaged roof.
A section of the Terminal 1 canopy at delhi airport collapsed on friday during a downpour that pummelling the nation's capital.
 
The Union minister promised compensation of Rs 3 lakh for wounded parties and Rs 20 lakh for deceased, along with the announcement of a statewide audit.

"We express our condolences to the life that has been lost in this tragic incident. We immediately sent the emergency response team, the fire safety team and also the CISF and NDRF teams. Everyone was available at the site, and they have done thorough inspection so that no other casualties are there," the minister further said.
