Notable for churning out some of India's greatest films, the malayalam film industry continues to turn out critically acclaimed and financially successful films like 2018 and Manjummel Boys, Premalu, and Aavesham. The fact that malayalam films, in spite of their critical praise, mostly attract to a select group of affluent moviegoers might be one explanation for this tendency.
