Telangana - More rains expected in Hyderabad as city welcomes southwest monsoon

Telangana is now experiencing the southwest monsoon, which brought heavy rainfall to the state capital and its environs on Wednesday. However, the heavy rain caused major traffic jams in Hyderabad, leaving drivers delayed for hours on end as several roads became flooded.
The india Meteorological Department predicts that on thursday evening and night, the city may be isolated to scattered showers, albeit they won't be as intense as yesterday's intense deluge. On june 7, however, a yellow signal for heavy rain has been issued for the city.

The city could have sweltering daytime temperatures, but by nightfall, clouds should be building up and the high should be about 36 degrees Celsius. Additionally, a few districts, including bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Narayanpet, are expected to see sporadic, strong storms, according to IMD's forecast. These districts have been placed under a yellow alert. Showers that are isolated to scattered are predicted for other regions of the state.

Districts like Nalgonda, Suryapet, and nagarkurnool had an overnight downpour on Wednesday; some spots recorded astonishing rainfall totals of 170-180 mm. Amazingly, areas that were dry the previous year are suddenly receiving significant amounts of precipitation within the first week of the monsoon season.

In order to reduce traffic issues and guarantee safety during periods of severe rains, authorities ask locals to use caution and refrain from making needless trips.
