Telangana Hyderabad Airport surpasses 25 million passenger mark

According to its most recent monthly traffic report, the GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited-managed rajiv gandhi International airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, reached important milestones in March. Reaching the 25 million passenger milestone in FY2024—a 19% increase from the previous fiscal year—was one noteworthy accomplishment. Throughout FY2024, the airport showed steady development, with a rise in passengers of almost 2 million on average per month.
 

Regarding traffic sectors, during FY2024, domestic travel grew by 18.5 percent year over year, while foreign traffic grew by a healthy 23.2 percent year over year. In addition, the airport had record-breaking days for both aircraft and passenger traffic. On december 23, 2023, it handled 0.77 lakh people, its highest-ever single-day passenger volume. Furthermore, the airport registered an astounding 544 aircraft movements on march 30, 2024, which was a record-breaking single-day total.
 
Concerning cargo operations, the airport recorded its highest-ever quantities of cargo in FY2024, carrying almost 154 thousand metric tonnes, an increase of 8% year over year. One notable achievement was surpassing the 25 million passenger mark in FY2024, representing a 19 per cent increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
