Between october and december 2023, approximately 90,12,232 videos were removed globally by YouTube. Remarkably, YouTube's own systems detected around 96% of these violations, highlighting the platform's proactive approach to content moderation. The removed content encompassed various forms of harmful material, including threats to children's safety, violent content, nudity, misinformation, and sexual content.
In response to these challenges, YouTube has implemented stringent measures, including the possibility of banning channels that repeatedly violate community guidelines within a 90-day period and engaging in severe abuse. Additionally, YouTube has introduced new tools to verify the originality of videos and combat content duplication.
