Mukhtar Ansari, a former gangster who is now a politician, was checked into a hospital on tuesday while incarcerated in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, Ansari was taken to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following a diagnosis of urinary tract infection (UTI), following which a group of medical professionals advised that he have surgery. On tuesday, at one in the morning, Ansari was taken to the hospital.

This occurs just a few days after the gangster claimed in court in Barabanki on march 21 that his health had declined and that he had been given poisoned food while inside.

Ansari did not show up before the district MP/MLA court over a case of suspected fraud in the registration of an ambulance that was used to transport him from jail to a court in punjab a few years ago, citing poor health.

He said, "...on the night of march 19, my food was laced with poisonous substance, following which my health has deteriorated," in an application submitted through his attorney Randhir Singh Suman. I think I'm about to choke."

Ansari's health examination and some blood tests were carried out by a group of medical professionals, based on the facts.

Subsequently, the physicians gave the thug some medication and told the jail authorities that Ansari was having problems since he had not eaten throughout the month of Ramadan.

Afzal Ansari, a former member of parliament for the Bahujan Samaj party (BSP), said that his brother Mukhtar Ansari was killed by sabotage, confirming the gangster's allegations that he was given poisoned food.

The jail administration denied the allegations, stating that all of the prisoners ate the same meal and had no health problems.

The court scheduled the next hearing for march 29 of 2022 after Ansari and his 12 colleagues were charged in the ambulance registration case.
