BJP, JD(S) workers clash during Karnataka rally, chink in alliance

A few weeks before the lok sabha elections, bjp and Janata Dal (Secular) workers fought during a joint meeting in Tumakuru, karnataka, signaling a split between the partners. The purpose of the gathering was to promote their alliance's candidate, v Somanna. As the alliance candidate, Somanna from Tumakuru has been put out by the BJP. The controversy began when JD(S) mla MT Krishnappa said that Kondajji Vishwanath, the head of the bjp, was to blame for his loss in the 2019 lok sabha elections.

After initially running for the JD(S) in the 2019 lok sabha elections, Vishwanath joined the BJP. Somanna interrupted Vishwanath as he attempted to speak. The majority of JD(S) employees in attendance on the platform took Krishnappa's side.

The unity between the party workers appears to be going through teething problems before of the polls, despite the fact that the issue was eventually rectified.

Prior to the lok sabha elections, the bjp and the JD(S) formed an alliance. According to reports, the former is expected to run for 25 seats, while the latter is expected to run for three. But there hasn't been a formal announcement yet.

The JDS will run for three seats—Hassan, Mandya, and Kolar—in accordance with the seat-sharing arrangement.

It is anticipated that JD(S) mp Prajwal Revanna, a grandson of former prime minister and JD(S) founder HD Deve Gowda, will run from Hassan. Hassan is Deve Gowda's hometown.

HD Kumaraswamy, the state president of JD(S), is probably going to challenge from the Mandya lok sabha seat.

In the meanwhile, the bjp has unveiled its initial slate of 20 candidates. The 24 lok sabha seats that the congress is running for have been revealed.

On april 26 and May 7, karnataka will cast ballots in two phases for the Lok Sabha.
