Hyderabad’s power demand peaks in the summer season

Hyderabad's high temperatures cause more people to use air conditioners, water coolers, and other appliances, which increases the city's need for power.

The telangana State electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (TSPDCL) reported that on march 6, the state's electricity consumption was 298.19 million units, as opposed to 293.52 million units on the same day in 2023.

On march 6, hyderabad had a peak in demand of 69.31 million units, up from 58.75 million units on the same day the previous year.

Surge in temperature in Hyderabad

The temperature spike is to blame for Hyderabad's increased demand for power. In other places, it was warmer than 38 degrees Celsius. The well-known meteorologist T. balaji predicts that the summer heat will only become worse, with a high of 40 degrees Celsius predicted for hyderabad starting on march 10.

The summer months in hyderabad and other areas of telangana are predicted to be hotter, which means that demand for power will probably climb even more.
