Rameshwaram cafe bombing - ₹10 lakh information on bomber...

The National Investigation Agency on wednesday offered a ₹10 lakh cash incentive for the person who planted the low-intensity IED in the Rameshwaram cafe that resulted in the bombing on march 1 that injured at least ten people. The NIA released a depiction of the accused in the "wanted" poster along with a statement that the informant's identity will stay secret. Although no one has been taken into custody as of yet in connection with the blast probe, the NIA and the Central Crime Branch are both conducting a manhunt. The Union home ministry ordered the NIA to begin its investigation on tuesday since the karnataka government refused to give the investigation to the central agency.

Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara said on wednesday that the city police have found important hints and are moving closer to solving the case. Following the city-shaking explosion, the cafe was closed and won't reopen until march 8. Fortunately, none of the ten casualties from the march 1 explosion, which happened during the popular cafe's bustling lunch hour, were seriously hurt. By assembling CCTV footage, the investigators were able to determine that the individual who had entered the cafe an hour earlier and left the bag containing the IED with a timer behind. The man asked for a meal of rava idli, but it was not available.

A hazy photo of the alleged offender became viral because of this video. The NIA posted a "wanted" notice on wednesday, identifying the person in the widely circulated photo as a possible suspect. The suspect appears to be a tall, thin-built man in his forties or thirties. In the initial CCTV photos obtained inside the cafe, he was hiding his data-face behind a mask, but in the image published by the NIA on wednesday, his data-face is clearly visible. According to reports on tuesday, threats via emails were allegedly sent to State home minister G Parameshwara, deputy chief minister Dk Shivakumar, and chief minister of karnataka Siddaramaiah during the case's investigation. Siddaramaiah, however, denied the reports.
