Telangana Hyderabad - Comic Con 2024 unleashes pop culture extravaganza
After a three-year hiatus, the world of pop culture converged on hyderabad on saturday for Comic Con 2024, which began at the Hitex Exhibition Centre. Enthusiastic fans and comic book enthusiasts gathered at the two-day event, ready to immerse themselves in the festival's numerous offerings.
Tejas, a comic aficionado, voiced his delight, saying, "As a comic enthusiast, I've always waited for Comic Con, and finally, the day has arrived." The event included several publishing companies and indian artists, including Indusverse, Yali Dreams Creations, Sufi Comics, Lilorosh, Garbage Bin, and others. The event also featured international acts such as Rico Renzi. According to Sufi Comics writer Mohammed ali Vakil, "While we are regulars at Comic Cons across india, this is our first time in hyderabad, and the response has been great here." The cosplay community took center stage, with aficionados dressed up in extravagant outfits inspired by anime characters.
The Arena

The Arena
One of the key features was 'The Arena', a 40,000-square-foot gaming arena that provided spectators with a gaming paradise. Daily tournaments, e-sports events, prominent streams, and a wealth of gaming alternatives made it the ideal location for gamers. "There are around 12 large stalls set up in The Arena, complete with games and gamers, of course. "It's a dream for all of the city's gamers," remarked Rishith, a Comic-Con attendee.
Experiential zones
Sony Pictures india put up experiential zones to offer the Madame Web Experience, which included a 360-degree photo booth and a live tarot card reading based on the film's premise. Another zone was Crunchyroll, which is known for streaming anime material. They displayed Telugu-dubbed content on their wall branding and engaged visitors with a JJK activation game and a Solo Levelling picture opportunity.
‘I can see people loving my look’
"I'm dressed like a Goth maid, ready for battle. The maid character from Anime served as my inspiration, but I wanted to accessorize it as much as possible and appear as attractive as possible. I've also developed a fusion by including the Lich king sword in my costume. "I can see people admiring my appearance," said Arindham, a cosplayer who won the indian Championship of Cosplay in Bengaluru.
