India: Mother of Democracy-Theme of ECI R-Day tableaux....

The 75th Republic Day celebration on friday highlighted the nation of India's strength as a democratic one, with the election commission of india (ECI) and the Union cultural ministry focused on the topic "India: Mother of Democracy." As it rolled down the Kartavya Path on friday, the culture ministry's tableau featured a replica of B R Ambedkar presenting the Constitution to the nation's first president, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

The 75th Republic Day procession was led for the first time by 100 women performing musical instruments, with the themes of "Nari Shakti" and "Viksit Bharat." The culture ministry adopted an all-women contingent for its tableau, with at least 22 female artists dressed in state-specific costumes leading the first tractor. This also featured a representation of the democratic traditions that the nation has upheld since the Vedic era.

Replicas of buddha and Jain elders, along with democratic symbols of the Mahajanapadas (old indian kingdoms), Humpy's chariot, and a copy of Ashoka's inscription of Junagadh, were placed in the trailer that pulled up behind the lead tractor. The second tractor had an enormous reproduction of Ambedkar and prasad exchanging the Constitution, which was followed by a 120-degree 3-D anamorphic projection made with unique LEDs to provide the best possible viewing conditions for a film about how the indian way of life embodied the foundations of democracy. The inscriptions of king Kharevala, Rudraman I, the pillar of Samudragupta, and the multi-layered Shrine Sangha system, which is exemplified in the town of Uthiramerur, were among the tableau's other features.

The topic of the election Commission's tableau for the 2024 lok sabha elections was "free, fair, inclusive, accessible, and participative elections," as stated by the poll authority. The front of the tableau depicted an inked finger using an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) to cast a ballot, with the words "96 crore (960 million) electors" printed on it. The back of the tableau included ECI's "No Voter Left Behind" initiative, which, according to the organization, demonstrated how, in spite of the dire circumstances, the polling organization made an effort to reach as many voters as possible across the nation.
