SIBY JEYYA
Following the BRS government's electoral defeat, there have been rumors and speculations about the status of senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal in the telangana cadre. Smita, who has played an important role in the administration of the kcr government during the last decade, is now the Chief Secretary for the Irrigation department.
According to reports, numerous IAS and IPS officers have met with the new chief minister, revanth reddy, but Smita Sabharwal has not. She also failed to show up for a review meeting called by Irrigation minister Uttam Kumar reddy last week. These events have sparked speculation that Smita is considering relocating to Union services from Telangana.
In reaction to the rumors, Smita Sabharwal rushed to social media to state unequivocally that she was not going and would remain in the telangana cadre. Despite the clarification, the fact that she has not met with chief minister revanth reddy and has not attended the Irrigation Department's evaluations has sparked ongoing controversies and disputes. There were also rumors that she had intended to transfer to central services and had applied to the Central secretariat service (CSS) to be released from governmental responsibilities. The situation is still fluid, and she is unsure about her future position.
