LEO Tamil Telugu Movie Review - Lokesh Kanagaraj MISSES THE SPARK
Before we begin this review, we need to clarify this is a Spoiler-Free review! But still, you might find some spoilers. So read at your own risk. As we all know, this is an unofficial remake of 'History of Violence' and everything is very much the same. Right from the title card, the entire movie belongs to lokesh Kanagaraj. But, is the movie worth all the hype? We would say 'NO'. The Spark is missing definitely here. Even though it's a 100% Loki movie, the movie is way behind his previous works.
In short, sanjay dutt who is the father of Leo Das kills madonna sebastian who is Leo's sister because of Jesus / Horoscope, and Leo Das wants to take revenge because of that. Yes! lokesh Kangaraj has handled this script and the hype is all because of this..!
The movie begins pretty slow and flat and we have to say the 'Mass' audience will not enjoy it. The highly expected Hyena sequence is underwhelming. The movie picks up after surprise entrants (Arjun and Sanjay Dutt) and the badass song with a solid interval block. The movie is technically strong with rich visuals and good production values. But the slow screenplay is the villain and it may not suit everyone. If you expect a 'Vikram' or 'Kaithi', we are sure you will be disappointed.
This serious crime drama all the way might be a little difficult for the masses. lokesh kanagaraj behaved like Andrew Garfield and never revealed anything in any of his 1477 interviews even though it's obvious that the movie comes under LCU. Constable Napolean from Kaithi comes as a guard here and that's how it is connected.
In the second half, trisha and GVM try to find Vijay’s backstory. D'Souza (Mansoor) tells the flashback. Leo Das's entry picked up some pace, but still nothing notable. Leo Das will remind us of Thirumalai Vijay for sure. madonna sebastian as Vijay's sister is amateurish. The only positive factor in the movie is 'Action King' Arjun. As usual, Loki has used two retro songs, but it's not getting enough response like Vikram. He used 'Thaamarai Poovukum' song.
