Telangana Poet Gaddar, Known For His Revolutionary Songs, Dies At 77

Gaddar, a well-known telangana folk singer and balladeer who gained notoriety for his revolutionary songs in the 1980s and subsequently during Telangana's statehood movement, passed away on sunday in a Hyderabad-area private hospital. He was 77. According to a statement from the hospital, gummadi Vittal Rao, well known as Gaddar, passed away from lung and urinary issues as well as advanced age. He was admitted to the hospital on July 20 due to heart illness. He had a bypass procedure on august 3 and made a full recovery, the hospital reported.


But because of his senior age and a history of lung and urinary issues, which worsened, he ultimately passed away, the report added. rahul Gandhi, the head of the congress, expressed his sorrow over the passing of the "iconic poet" in a tweet that read: "Saddened to hear about the demise of Shri gummadi Vittal Rao, Telangana's iconic poet, balladeer, and fiery activist." "Gaddar fought relentlessly for the underprivileged because he loved the telangana people. May his legacy serve as an inspiration to all of us,' he added. On July 2, gaddar had attended a rahul Gandhi-led congress public event in Telangana's Khammam. N Chandrababu Naidu, the head of the TDP, Union minister G Kishan Reddy, and a number of other leaders expressed their condolences on the singer's passing.
