However, the government invested a sizable sum in the event's planning. Sources claim that Rs 100 crore was spent alone on managing the event, which included landscaping the grounds of the Andhra university Engineering College, the location.

According to sources, the government also spent close to Rs 50 crore on promotions for the occasion, including print and electronic media adverts, hoardings, and other types of outdoor exposure. The fact that the jagan government spent more than Rs 25 crore on media management alone is more astonishing. A small group of media managers working in the department of information and public relations in the Chief Minister's office were given the responsibility of handling the media.

The media managers were tasked with bringing journalists from Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and other regions of the state to Visakhapatnam, housing them in five-star hotels, and handling other legalities. Few people from outside the state attended the event, but many local reporters, including those from web portals and freelancers, attended who worked for even obscure newspapers. Someone remarked that it appeared that there were more reporters and video crew members at the conference than attendees.
