The
telugu television
news channel "V6" and its sister company
telugu newspaper "Velugu," which are supported by former
lok sabha member and current
bharatiya janata party leader G
vivek Venkatswamy, were completely boycotted on
tuesday by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The BRS claimed that both the channel and its daily were engaging in biassed reporting towards the
bjp and harming the interests of
telangana state in a notice posted at
telangana Bhavan, the party's headquarters.
The BRS said that several
media outlets, including Velugu and V6, which are expected to behave impartially in a democracy, have been spreading slander against the BRS while peddling false and made-up
news in favour of the BJP. In light of this, it has been decided not to invite either of the
media outlets for
news conferences or other
events the
party has planned.
Also, all the BRS
party representatives have been cautioned against participation in any programmes including debates, talks and other
events organised by these
media organisations. The BRS
party urged Telangana's residents to be aware of the true character and goals of these
media outlets, which have devolved into mouthpieces for the
bjp and lost all credibility.
